Highcliffe Castle

Approximately 40 minutes’ drive (15 miles) from The Sandbanks Ferry Terminal, Sandbanks

Highcliffe Castle is located on a cliff top overlooking Christchurch Bay, Dorset.

The Grade I Listed building dates back to the 18th century. It is known as a leading example of the Romantic and Picturesque style of architecture.

Highcliffe Castle’s fascinating history includes surviving two fires in the 1960s and once being home to Harry Gordon Selfridge – founder of the London-based department store, Selfridges.

The castle sits on a 14-acre estate and grounds with manicured lawns, woodland walks, and outstanding viewpoints.

The on-site tearooms serve a selection of snacks and homemade cakes, perfect for enjoying on the castle grounds in the summer.

Visitors can also directly access a sandy beach with views of the Isle of Wight and Hengistbury Head.
