It is your responsibility to check the fare before you travel. Details of the applicable fares can be found at www.sandbanksferri.world and on various notice boards on & around the Ferry operation.

In the event that the service is suspended, other than for planned maintenance, and purchased tickets cannot be used, please approach a member of staff for a refund of the ticket purchased.

  1. Motor Vehicles

Payment for all classes of motor vehicles travelling on the ferry, including motor cycles, is collected using ANPR technology. Cameras capture your vehicle’s registration number as you travel, and payment is then required via www.sandbanksferri.world/pay or via the official Sandbanks Ferry app (available on Google Play and App Store) by midnight on the day following your crossing.

Payment for vehicle travel may also be made in advance via the ‘pay as guest’ function at www.sandbanksferri.world/pay, up to 30 days prior to your crossing.

No other means of payment is accepted for ferry vehicle crossings, including cash. Online payment via www.sandbanksferri.world/pay or via the official Sandbanks Ferry app is the only accepted means of payment for vehicle crossings, and payment cannot be accepted in person at the point of travel.

It is your responsibility to ensure payment is made by the applicable deadline. Failure to pay within the required timeframe may result in enforcement action as set out on our website.

Ferry crossings by motor vehicles may also be pre-paid by setting up an Online Account at www.sandbanksferri.world/pay. Discounts are available for bulk purchases of Tokens. For the purpose of the Online Account, purchases are converted to Tokens, with one Token equivalent to one ferry crossing.

Where you hold an Online Account, payment for vehicle crossings is taken in accordance with the prioritised order set out in Section 14.

In the event that the service is suspended, other than for planned maintenance, and a crossing paid for in advance via Pay As Guest cannot be made, please contact customer services.

  1. Price Changes

We reserve the right to change the price of each type of journey at any time. Where possible we will ensure that any changes to toll fares are advertised before coming into effect.

  1. Third-Party Provider

The ANPR system for the sale of vehicle crossing Tokens for the Ferry, together with the support and maintenance for the same, including payment enforcement support and support in relation to the Red Route enforcement scheme referred to in Section 16, is provided by way of a contract with Capita Business Services Ltd., First Floor, 2 Kingdom Street, Paddington, London, W2 6BD. You should read Capita Business Services Ltd.’s terms and conditions carefully before you purchase a Token.

  1. ANPR (Online) Accounts

Tokens for vehicular travel may be pre-paid online by setting up an Online Account via www.sandbanksferri.world/pay.

Tokens can only be purchased in predetermined values equivalent to the prices of bulk tickets at the time of ordering.

Once Tokens have been purchased and added to your Online Account, they are non-refundable (see Section 15).

Once a Token has been purchased it must and will remain allocated to the Online Account to which it has been allocated.

Full price tokens are valid for 30 days. Tokens purchased within a bundle (10, 50, or 100) via an Online Account are valid for two years from the date of purchase. Tokens will be deducted from your account on a daily basis according to use. Where multiple purchases of Tokens exist on an Online Account, used Tokens will be deducted from the earliest dated purchase (i.e. purchases with the shortest amount of time left until expiration).

Up to five Vehicle Registration Marks may be added to an individual Online Account. There is no limit to the number of changes you can make to your registered vehicles, and you do not need to be the registered owner or keeper of a vehicle to add it to your account.

Payment for each crossing made by an Online Account holder is taken in the following order of priority:

  1. Where Tokens exist on your account for the relevant vehicle category, these will be consumed.
  2. Where no Tokens exist, any Account Credit on your account will be consumed automatically, at the rate applicable to the vehicle category, regardless of whether you have opted into Autopay.
  3. Where neither Tokens nor Account Credit exist on your account, you have until midnight on the day after travel to make a direct payment or purchase further Tokens.
  4. Where none of the above has occurred and you have opted into Autopay, payment for the appropriate full, non-discounted fare will be taken at midnight on the day after travel from the card you have nominated for Autopay, assuming it remains valid and has available funds.

Failure to make payment by the applicable deadline may result in enforcement action as set out on our website.

We reserve the right to withdraw your account if it is misused or if it is used in a way that is not permitted by these terms and conditions whether or not the misuse was by the registered account holder.

15. Payments And Refunds

All payments made for use of the Ferry, including for foot passenger and pedal cycle crossings, ANPR Tokens (Pay As Guest and via Online Account), and Account Credit, are non-refundable. We are under no obligation to provide a refund, either in full or in part, save as set out in these Terms or where required by law. This does not affect your statutory rights.
