Following the approval of toll increases by the Department for Transport, the Sandbanks Ferry Company has confirmed toll charges for the forthcoming year.

Mike Kean, Chairman of the Sandbanks Ferry Company, said: “We greatly value the support from our customers and community, whose continued custom supports the long-term future of the ferry crossing.

“We would also like to advise our customers that effective from 1st April 2026, the Sandbanks Ferry Company will be going fully cashless for all classes of toll, including pedestrians and cycles. From this date on, we will be unable to accept cash payment for any type of travel.

“The implementation of cashless operations is part of a wider movement across the company to create operational and cost efficiencies.”

Tolls as from 1st April 2026 to 31st March 2027 are as follows:

  • Pedestrians (one way charge only from Sandbanks) – £1.18
  • Pedal or motorcycle – £1.18
  • Car / vans up to 3,500kg maximum operating weight / minibuses up to 17 seats – £6.26
  • Goods vehicles with a maximum operating weight of more than 3,500kg – £12.52
